When I think of summer, the first thing that pops into my mind is lemon! It may be that I love lemonade or maybe just the idea of how fresh and inviting the bright yellow color makes me feel! Home stores usually carry an array of lemon decor, ranging from table centerpieces to wreaths, to framed art, plates and bowls. There are so many options and a million and one ways to get creative and decorate your kitchen for the summer. Today I am going to show you how to create a simple and beautiful table centerpiece using a lemon theme.
I am obsessed with home decorating! Most of my extra cash is spent on buying items for my home. I never buy anything full price unless I really love it. My favorite stores to shop for home decor are Hobby Lobby, Home Goods, Dollar Tree and Dollar General, yes I said dollar stores! If you can envision it, you can make it happen and for $1.00 I have bought some unique and decent items for my kitchen!
Lets get ready to create your lemon theme centerpiece! I like to start with a nice long table runner. Table runners add some softness and elegance to your dining table and I love to collect them in different colors and themes. For this project, I chose a table runner that I purchased at Home Goods for $9.99. It is a great quality runner and the color is a rich royal blue with white. I love how blue and white combine with yellow.
For the centerpiece, I used a medium sized ceramic pitcher that I was previously using for my kitchen utensils. I also purchased it at Home Goods and for $12.99 it was a great buy! I added some large stem yellow flowers to match color scape. I wanted to add some height so I sat it on top of a wooden cake stand (I never used it for cake as I dont usually bake lol!).
Finally the stars of the show! Lemons! These are fake though, but you can always use real ones if you want to get really fancy and want to impress your guests. I placed them on a large white serving plate that I also purchased at Home Goods for $12.99. The plate has beautiful detail to the edges that adds some rustic elegance to the centerpiece.
For the last and final step I added a yellow candle that has some pretty detail and a small wooden sign that I purchased at Dollar General.
And there you have it. A simple, beautiful lemon theme centerpiece! You can use anything you have at home, combine colors and items made of different materials. All you need is a little inspiration!
